Build coming along quite nicely
GeeNC30, Tuesday 02 February 2010 - 18:41:18 // comment: 0

Well i haven't done much to the bike for quite some time. Been in the basement just watching me go to and back from work (and getting it's ignition drilled while i ignored it).
But payday came and, much to my other halfs dismay i've started working on the bike again. Went to see Jake and we had a wonderful time breathing in sanded paint and fibreglass. So alot of the front of the bike is a wonderful new uburn camo looking paint job at the moment...don't worry its not staying like this, but this is what it currently looks like.

Anyway, got home and started working on the bike some more, trying to get the speedo to work, but that's not for happening just now i don't think. Installed my new ignition barrel and started working out how i'm going to make my seat lugs appear from no where.

Some of you might of noticed that we've had a few new sign ups but some have actually been spammers, so i'm just tightening the screws a little.

A few weeks ago the advertisement ran out as the funds for it did. It did last a fair bit longer than i was expecting and got us ALOT more trafic (around 800 - 900 people per month). I was hoping that the fact that we are on google now should keep our numbers up, but the reality is that we just aint getting enough hits anymore. And as you know, the smaller the number of people on here the less people will actually stay and the site will close due to me not wanting to waste any more funds on it.
The site costs me personally £10 a month, not much i know but the advertisement from google, which i was using before costs about £15 a month for a decent amount of adverts posted (and each click takes away a little of that money) and the adverts got the site posted everywhere, we got hits from all round the world (strangely ALOT for new zealand and south africa, but not the states).

Basically this news post is just a little, "help please if you can". I work my ass off for minimum wage and i do this as a hobby, so i dont feel i'm wasting my money but i also feel i should be spending it on something better or saving for my wedding (trying to set a date now, would be cool to have a bunch of bikes there, dont worry already ran it past the mrs, she likes the idea too....i think)
So if you feel the urge, click the donate button up the top right. give what you want and know that it will all go into making the site better!
If you cant give anything, click the adverts on the right side as each click gets me revinue, which again will be used for advertising us, just dont click it too much or you get us banned from the scheme...

cheers,
Gee

DIY paddock stand
GeeNC30, Tuesday 27 October 2009 - 23:29:55 // comment: 1

Hi folks, was looking about on the internet as usual for all things NC30 and found this lovely diagram of the dimensions etc of a paddock stand that you can make. I need one myself...so might ask my personal engineer/Jake to build me one...

New nc30 parts & service parts & Evil bay + others.
GeeNC30, Tuesday 20 October 2009 - 15:37:56 // comment: 0

If you're anything like me, then you just cant leave your NC30 alone, you're always having to do something to it, you cant just leave it be & ride it!
or maybe its just me but hey!

if you're looking for some genuine honda service parts or maybe doing a rebuild, before you turn to the obvious evil-bay, have a look @ david silver spares.

they're a honda specialist & carry quite alot of parts that cant be found else where.

i get all my headlight bulbs, oil filters, air filter, stone-chip guard film, indicators, service spanners & all the other little bits from david silver.

not to say that theres anything wrong with ebay, ive been a massive user for almost 6 years now & on there, you can find almost anything if you look hard enough.

if you're looking for NC30 parts etc then try these quick & easy searches for parts but get ready for some serious hunting.

im sure its all fairly obvious but just in case...............
im the main search bar type the following for different results - remeber ebay is only as good as the person listing or the person searching for the items.

NC30 - nice & easy.
NC 30 - as some people are strange.
VFR400 - simple.
VFR 400 - sometimes get a few extra items.
VFR400R - as some people list straight from the log book (V5)
VFR400 R - im sure you'll be noticing a pattern now.
VFR400RR - as some people think they exsist but trust me, its just a sticker!
VFR 400RR - & last but not least.

& if you're really brave & have got a few hours to wish away, you'll notice a little box under the search bar "include in title & discription" if you tick that box then it'll bring up anything on ebay with any of the above (NC30 for example) in the listings.

also remember to check things like Gum-tree & your local classified listing, they all hide treasure, its just waiting finding it.

Well, as you could guess, i wasn't a happy biker on Friday because the bike broke down again...
So today after everyone at work was asking "How was your biking holiday?" and me replying with something along the lines of "Oh shush, what holiday!?" i decided that i was going to get the bike running today. The funny thing is, I'm a I.T. man at heart and don't really know much about mechanical things, but after jake was looking at it and found that there wasn't any suction on a pipe where there should have been, i followed it and found the problem...Here it is:

If you cant see the problem then you are worse than me!

Anyway, after faffing about for about 30mins trying to get my newly cut pipe back on (into the smallest area hidden damn near inside the engine!) i got it half way back on and figured that the vacuum would pull it the rest of the way on, because i just couldn't get it all the way on. Put the tank back on and connected the pipes back where they should be, bolted it down and got the fairing back on properly too. tried to start the bike, wasn't going...then i realised i never put the fuel tap back on (DOH!), so put that on and WEH-HEY we got a roar! and it's still running, first pop of the button! so damn happy!
